🎂 Everyone at #DundalkFC would like to wish Lilywhites legend Francie Callan, a very happy 85th birthday.
Francie made 274 appearances for the club, winning two league titles, a Top Four Cup and the Presidents Cup during the sixties. https://t.co/bEvDhnYEJJ
🎥 A huge word of thanks to #DundalkFC fan Niall Newberry who came across this old silent film of our very first FAI Cup final appearance against Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park in 1931. After a 1-1 draw in front of 20,000 people, Rovers went on to win the replay 1-0.
The great Joey Donnelly, playing on the left wing, is prominent in the video. We believe that this is the oldest footage available of our great club.
RT @niallnewberry: Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers in the 1931 FAI Cup final. Open to correction here, but I’m pretty sure this is indeed the oldest film footage of Dundalk FC in action. Amazing to see a very young Joey Donnelly out on the left-flank. https://t.co/RMQRWIPcsM
🗣️ “The clubs and the FAI are more united than ever and if the health authorities and the government say that it’s safe to play, then I believe the clubs will vote to come back."
#DundalkFC chairman Bill Hulsizer believes that SSE Airtricity League clubs are united in their desire to see football return this year.
